The summary element holds a short placeholder phrase for the hidden composition of a details element.
It acts as a heading or legend for the material inside the details element. The reader may show or hide the associated detailed composition by clicking the placeholder text.
The summary element is always visible. When a details element has no associated summary element, the browser generates a fallback, whic is typically just the word "Details".
- The details element keeps a long-winded passage hidden until the reader actively signals the intention to read it.
